SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Level and is a ratio of how capable a system is at maintaining your air temperature to how much energy it uses to do so. The higher the SEER level, the better this ratio is for energy costs in your home. In higher temperature climates, the better a greater SEER ranking will be for you.
Trane AC systems fall between 14.5 and 21 SEER levels, depending on the model, with most ranking close to 17.
With multi-product testing, all Trane AC systems are confirmed to have long-lasting performance and reliability. They are built with both internal stability, for efficient functioning, and external durability, for withstanding nature, in mind. All models are developed to surpass industry standards.
Both greater SEER levels and durability play into Trane air conditioners’ cost efficiency. The higher SEER rankings can help reduce your energy costs, and the long-lasting parts assure minimal cost on needed repairs with regular maintenance. All Trane AC models have a federal Energy Star Rating.
Trane AC systems have a decibel range of 55-75, from about the level of ordinary conversation to the level of a vacuum cleaner.
With no manufacturer’s suggested retail price, the cost will vary based on retailer, temperature range, the type and age of your home, interior ductwork, and local and state regulations. The average price across models is $4050.
Beyond designing and manufacturing their parts, Trane is also dedicated to developing new technologies that provide constant innovation to the comfort level of your home.
The compressor in your AC unit helps to adjust and maintain a constant speed. This variation helps reduce temperature swings in the home, giving you a continuous temperature.
Each Trane AC model includes either a One-Stage, Two-Stage, or Variable Climatuff Compressor.
Beyond just adjusting temperature, it’s essential for an AC unit to provide cleaner, healthier air. Trane Clean Effects provide additional filtration, eliminating dust, pollen, and other irritants from your home.
CleanEffects can be added to any AC system.
The WeatherGuard II cover helps to give your AC unit extra protection against snow, ice, and other debris, keeping the fan safe from unwanted obstructions. It can also help protect people from the moving parts while keeping the inside components from damage.
The WeatherGuard II cover is available on the XL20i, XL18i, and XL16i models.
The TruComfort system allows for the highest level of comfort in your home. By enabling the compressor, outdoor fan, and indoor fan to vary operating speed based on temperature changes, AC units with this system can maintain a precise temperature at 1/2° around the target.
The TruComfort system is available on the XV20i and XV18 models.
Much like the TruComfort system, Comfort Link II provides better configuration of optimal performance and efficiency across your AC system. Connecting key components allows for compatible models to communicate with each other and make necessary adjustments.
The Comfort Link system is also compatible with Nexia, a smart home system. By having Nexia connected with your air conditioner, it’s possible to adjust your home temperature through the mobile phone app or any other web-enabled device.
Comfort Link II compatibility is available on the XV20i and XV18 models and is usable when paired with communicating indoor units.
